Rascal

So Friday, the day I had been looking forward to finally arrived and I was overjoyed. Today was the day we were going to find out if we were having a girl or a boy! We took Thyra out of school to bring her to the ultrasound, and to make a long story short, the baby did not cooperate in the least. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I was a grumpy bear all day. I had known all along that we might not find out, but the reality was much worse. There went all my shopping plans promptly out the window!

My foul mood prompted dear husband to tell me he had planned to buy me a 3D ultrasound at UCBaby http://www.ucbaby.ca for mothers day (awwww), but when he saw my bottom lip trembling into a pout, he spilled the beans and let me go early.

The ultrasound was yesterday. Due to an absolutely convoluted morning, Gavan ended up missing it, but Thyra and I were there to hear the tech announce almost instantly that with absolutely no doubt we are having a BOY!!!!!!

We are so excited! The monkey continued his antics and never let us see his face keeping his head down, and after much belly dancing and bladder emptying he finally turned over... the wrong way. We got a lot of cute photos of the back of his round head. I can, however, wait a few more months to see his face... I just wanted to get started on the nursery and the shopping so I was really just looking for the embarrassing nudie shots. And flash us he did!

After all the excitement of yesterday, today I had my first reality check. After making a mad dash to the mall on my lunch break, I perused the baby stores and noticed I spent most of my time oohing and aahing over the tiny adorable girls stuff. Um.... NOT having a girl. I did manage to buy some little boy onesies, but most of it I just passed by with an eyebrow cocked. This is it? This is what boys shopping consists of? A million plaid button down shirts and sweater vests. My husband is sighing in relief... think of the money we'll save. That would have been the upside until I found this: http://www.childishclothing.comlothing.com. They have the awesomest stuff ever, and I can even almost convincingly say that the boys stuff rivals the girls.

Yep. Ordered.

Tea Collection, www.teacollection.com, is my other new favorite label for boys clothes. I have been eyeing this little diamond sweater for awhile now and just might have to purchase it for my new SON!
