In Search of Chai Lattes

It opened finally. We now have a Starbucks within 15 minutes walking distance from our house. Yesterday, needing a few groceries, we took full advantage of another sunny day and headed out. We picked up Thyra at the bus stop on the way, and then it was just a hop, skip and a jump or two before we were sipping away. It felt oh-so-urban to be imbibing luxuriously-priced drinks at the neighbourhood cafe.  And, in true neighbourly fashion, we even ran into a couple of friends.

Total round trip took two and a half hours, including toddler meanderings, lengthy coffee break and acquisition of food items for supper. Total cost was well over $100 by the time we purchased our groceries, paid for our caffeine fix and settled on a bag of Sumatra Decaf coffee beans for the good man at home.

I can see this is going to be a dangerous new world.
